Join Us at the Mutt Strut!
11/6/11: On behalf of the animals, huge thanks to everyone who helped make the 5th Annual PAWS Mutt Strut the biggest and best one yet! After
the storm that forced us to postpone, we enjoyed a perfect day and couldn’t be more thrilled by the turnout of PAWS friends and supporters. It was a great day of activities, music, food, and fun, all to support our efforts to save Philadelphia’s most vulnerable pets.
By the numbers: - Nearly $113,000 raised (a new Mutt Strut record!) - Approximately 1,500 attendees - 13 animals left the shelter for good: nine dogs were adopted, three dogs were released into foster care, and one cat was adopted, too! Proceeds from the Mutt Strut will enable us to rescue thousands of homeless pets in the coming year. We were so proud to be surrounded by the people who make our work possible, and we are deeply grateful for our community of caring and generous partners. We hope to see you in October 2012 for the 6th Annual PAWS Mutt Strut - details coming soon! On November 6, Philadelphia will go to the dogs! At the 5th Annual PAWS Mutt Strut, dogs and the people who love them will walk the 1.5-mile scenic route in FDR Park to raise funds and awareness for PAWS' efforts to save Philadelphia's homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals.  
When: SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 6 (new date, due to weather)
Check-in/Registration begins at 9am, start strutting at 11am!
(Across from the sports complex - plenty of free parking!) Registration fee: $25 per person ($10 for children 12 and under). **Online registration is now CLOSED. You can still register in person at the event!**
Don't have a mutt to strut? No problem! Register and join us for a great event for a great cause,
or "rent" a PAWS dog for the day and make a new friend, for the afternoon or for life! **Thanks to popular demand, mutt rentals are now sold out!** Looking to adopt? Plenty of PAWS dogs will be on-hand looking for loving homes. Come meet your new best friend!

It's More than a Dog Walk! PAWS partners will be on hand to offer a variety of tasty, fun, and educational opportunities and activities for 2-legged and 4-legged participants alike: ask the vet booth, basic grooming services from Suds & Swagger, microchipping, dog obstacle course and bobbing for bones, costume contest, pet portraits, training tips, and much more! There will be music throughout the day and food/beverages from La Colombe, The Dapper Dog, Nomad Pizza Company, Pure Fare, Say Cheese, Jimmies, and Buttercream.

Through its adoption locations, special events, and foster care network, PAWS finds loving homes for thousands of pets each year. In March 2010, PAWS opened a low-cost spay/neuter and wellness clinic serving pet owners who cannot afford basic veterinary care, and rescue organizations that need affordable services to carry out their lifesaving work. This facility, which serves more than 10,000 animals per year, plays a critical role in achieving our mission of reducing and ultimately eliminating the unnecessary killing of Philadelphia's animals.
